Helping Texas teens see that the world is simply better with them in it.

Our vision is to promote hope, help and strength among youth in Texas, so they can lead happy, healthy and productive lives. We aim to achieve this through the provision of comprehensive mental health services, training, education and evidence-based substance abuse prevention strategies.

Our History

Next Step Community Solutions is a 501 (c) 3 Texas incorporated non-profit organization and has been located in Tyler, Texas since our founding in 1984. We were originally established as Sister Communities Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse (SCCADA) to address the issues of youth alcohol and substance abuse. In 2011, we responded to the communities’ needs and broadened our services to provide more resources to help build healthy communities. Simultaneously, we changed our name to Next Step Community Solutions to more accurately describe our role in helping individuals take that next step. Take a look at the mental health services and substance abuse prevention tabs for more information on our work.
