Photovoice is an imaginative approach to mental health where we work with students to identify and express their positive coping skills through photography. We discuss the importance of mental health, positive stress, and ways to cope, plus have the students take photos to share their experiences with mental health and showcase the everyday ways that help them.
Students then write a narrative explaining what their photo means to them, and this culminates in a photo exhibition to show their work in a gallery setting within their local community.
All of this is not just about capturing images; it’s about telling their stories, raising awareness, and fostering a supportive community.
